Lessons are provided by myself,
Peter Gledhill, the owner of the school, a fully qualified Grade 5 DSA Approved Driving Instructor.
Pupil numbers are steadily increasing. These include totally new learners and also pupils that have switched from other instructors.
We have already had Driving Test successes.
My qualification is evidenced
by the green octagonal badge you will see on the front of my car.

Some instructors can only
display a pink triangular badge because they themselves are still training and have not yet passed
their test of instructional ability – I
just thought you ought to know especially as you will most likely still be paying a full lesson price!

Either way you should always ensure that the person you are paying for driving lessons is displaying one of these badges.

The Training Car is a dual-controlled
Ford Fiesta Zetec Blue – with a manual gearbox.
This is a limited edition Fiesta built in 2008 with a number of unique refinements.

It is my own car, so it is well looked after and I aim to make sure it is always presented to you in a clean condition, both inside and outside.
It is excellent for learner drivers particularly as it has a 1.25 petrol engine giving it plenty of power when needed and a very comfortable ride.
I prefer to teach in petrol cars (even though diesels use less fuel per mile) because I firmly believe that they are more suitable for learners especially when driving at low speeds in second gear and it is you who should get the benefit not just the instructor.
It is a proven fact that new drivers who have only learnt in diesel cars can struggle to adapt to petrol cars, but if you have learnt in a petrol car, then a change to diesel is much easier.
Some of the car’s features that you will benefit from include air conditioning –a quick clear front windscreen, excellent manoeuvrability with good all round vision.
There is a fully adjustable driver’s seat including height adjustment and adjustable steering column to help you to find a safe and comfortable driving position.
The door mirrors are electrically adjustable making it easier for you to select the correct positions and the windows are also electrically operated.
It also has power steering, an easy clutch, great brakes and excellent handling. It even has automatic wipers and lights!
There is also a superb Sony hi-fi with voice control and hands free telephone link – but these are for me to use between lessons, not you!
To help you on your lessons, you will be given a leaflet showing where all the main controls are that you will be using.
